As you may have seen from Instagram (@nutritionhappens) and Snapchat (@nutritionhappen), I was in New York City last week with another Chicago-based food blogger, aka my little hummus-lovin’ sister Addie, from Chickpea in the City.
Welcome to the new Nutrition Happens – what do you think?
I know it’s been a long time coming, but you can’t run before you learn to walk, right? This new site design is a cumulation and result of my growth in the past three years – both personally and professionally. Social media is such powerful way to express yourself. Somewhere between still feeling like a college senior (no more stuffing my tupperware full of carrot sticks from the dining halls) and trying to adult (taxes, someone please tell me I’m doing it right), I finally found my personal blog balance.
I made it, you guys! There are approximately 43054 boxes still unpacked and I’m sitting on the living room floor with my TV since the new furniture has yet to come in, but I’m so excited to start this new transition in my dietetic career. Also, running in non-triple digit temperatures doesn’t suck either. The temperature yesterday morning was a prime 70 degrees – vast improvement from 100 degrees!
The other week I took on a fun project at one of my go-to spots here in Charleston, appropriately called the Daily. (all the coffee sleeves pictured above…all found in my car. True story!)
The Daily is the sister store of the famous local hot spot that serves some of the sandwiches in town, Butcher & Bee. It’s a specialty grocery store/ juice & coffee bar, so you’ll find on the shelves many of the items served at Butcher & Bee. I love the grab and go concept because B&B is only open for lunch on the weekdays and when the craving is real for a B&B kale slaw, I know I’m covered!
I’ve been dropping hints here and there on Instagram in the past few weeks (lots of celebrating lately), but I’m officially sharing the news with you today about my move from Charleston to Chicago – to complete my goal of becoming a registered dietitian.
