I’m so excited to share with you these Crispy Maple Tofu Bites made with 100% Pure Maple Syrup from Canada! They’re easy to make and super versatile. I love it with this purple cabbage and red pepper slaw here, but honestly they’re the perfect sweet/savory protein topper to anything.
Now, I’ve said this before and I’ve said it again – stocking your pantry with essentials can help you in the long run because the basics (olive oil, salt, vinegar, etc) are the base to help you create simple but flavorful meals. Maple Syrup is my number one, go-to sweetener because it’s made with one ingredient – the sap from maple trees! While you’ll often see other syrups on the market, it’s not quite true maple syrup unless it’s only one ingredient.
Also, the flavor of the 100% pure maple syrup from Canada is like no other – it’s versatile enough to be in both savory and sweet dishes! A little bit goes a long way so you don’t really need a lot at once. While maple syrup is still sugar, you can absolutely consume it in moderation as part of a healthy diet. Overall, it does contain vitamins and minerals (per 2 tbsp serving) and provides a source of manganese, which is a trace mineral that our bodies use to support metabolism.
I can’t wait for you to give these maple tofu bites a try – if you do, give me a tag on Instagram at @NutritionHappens and let me know what you think!
